Windows Typing Speed Tutor

I’m building a dedicated typing-trainer for adults whose main objective is to boost raw words-per-minute, not to learn the keyboard from scratch. The software must run natively on Windows, work offline, and feel lightweight so an office laptop can launch it in seconds.

Core workflow I have in mind:
• short configurable drills that focus purely on speed
• real-time WPM, accuracy, and error heat-map feedback
• a progress dashboard that stores every session locally and renders simple charts for quick motivation

A clean, distraction-free interface is more important than gamified badges, but I do want scoped room for future add-ons such as custom text imports or multi-user profiles.

Deliverables
• Compiled Windows installer (.exe or .msi)
• Well-commented source code (any modern language/framework is fine; suggest what you’re most productive with)
• One-page setup & usage guide

Acceptance will be based on the program installing without admin-level tweaks, recording at least 100 sessions without data loss, and matching the WPM results of a reference test within ±2 WPM.

If you already have a typing-speed engine or chart component to accelerate development, mention it—I’m open to proven libraries as long as licensing stays royalty-free.
