Windows Full Vehicle Diagnostics Software
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m ready to commission a Windows-based application that performs true end-to-end vehicle diagnostics. The program must interface with standard OBD-II / CAN adapters (ELM327, J2534, etc.) and give technicians the ability to read and clear DTCs, stream live sensor data, run actuator tests, and generate professional-looking reports for every major module—engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, body electronics, and more.
A straightforward, technician-friendly GUI is essential, and the architecture should be clean, documented, and easy for my internal team to extend later. I can supply test vehicles and adapters during development and am open to you leveraging reputable open-source libraries as long as the final product is license-compliant for commercial use.
Deliverables
• Installer that runs on Windows 10/11
• Full, well-commented source code with build instructions
• Concise user guide plus developer documentation
• Short demo video showing successful scans on at least two vehicles
Acceptance criteria
• Connects to an OBD-II adapter and identifies the ECU in ≤10 seconds
• Reads and clears fault codes, streams live data, and runs for 30 minutes without crashes
• Exports a clear PDF report containing vehicle info, detected faults, and freeze-frame data
