User-Friendly Offline Windows POS
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m commissioning a full-scale, offline Windows desktop point-of-sale system built specifically for Retail store counters. The emphasis is on speed, reliability, and a calm, uncluttered interface that keeps cashiers relaxed even during rush hour.
The solution must run on a local network: one central server PC holds the database, while multiple cashier terminals connect over LAN and keep working even if the connection blips. Real-time inventory management needs to deduct stock the instant a sale is completed, and concise sales-reporting screens must let supervisors close out shifts without digging through menus. At the register, the system has to handle cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments out of the box.
I’m open to your preferred Windows-native stack—C#, .NET, WPF, Electron, or another toolset—as long as the result is fast, stable, and entirely local (no cloud). A cashier with minimal training should be able to scan, tender, and print a receipt in seconds.
Deliverables
• Client and server executables with an installer
• Clean, grocery-focused cashier UI
• Inventory and sales-reporting modules
• Payment-handling workflows for cash, card, and mobile methods
• LAN sync engine with offline resilience and auto-sync on reconnection
• Full source code and deployment documentation
Write “POS” at the very top of your proposal to confirm you’ve read the brief, and please share examples of POS work you’ve already completed. High-quality work here will lead to a long-term partnership for future enhancements and maintenance.
