Senior Software Engineer (10+ Years) - Part-Time Contract, Client-Facing

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is comfortable working directly with clients and helping translate business needs into clear technical direction.
In this role, you will primarily support client communication and project clarification rather than day-to-day coding. You will join calls with clients, help define requirements, and ensure our engineering team has clear and actionable information to work from.
This position is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys technical discussions, requirement gathering, and client communication, and who wants a flexible part-time role.
Responsibilities
• Join video calls with clients for project discussions and updates
• Ask clarifying questions to understand technical and business requirements
• Translate client needs into clear tasks or user stories for the engineering team
• Explain technical concepts and development progress in simple terms
• Prepare short meeting summaries and action items after calls
• Help keep projects aligned by identifying risks, blockers, or timeline concerns early
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a closely related technical role
• Strong understanding of modern software development (web applications, APIs, cloud systems)
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
• Comfortable speaking with clients and explaining technical topics clearly
• Organized and reliable when working in a remote environment
Nice to Have
• Previous experience working with US-based clients
• Experience in technical consulting, solutions architecture, or technical account management
• Background in areas such as FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, or AI-related projects
Schedule
• Approximately 5-10 hours per week
• Flexible schedule depending on project needs
• Must be able to join occasional calls during US business hours
