POS 2018 Training & Inventory Customization
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m working with Point of Sale 2018, built in C# on the .NET Framework, and I need a specialist to help me master and extend its inventory module.
First, I would like concise, hands-on training that walks me through every inventory-related screen and workflow: creating items, tracking quantities, processing stock adjustments, and generating the relevant reports. The goal is that, by the end of the sessions, I can navigate the module confidently without referring to documentation.
Second, I want two key custom features added directly to the existing codebase:
• Automated stock updates – whenever a sale, return, or purchase order is posted, the on-hand quantity must update instantly in SQL Server without needing a manual refresh.
• Low-stock alerts – if an item falls below its reorder threshold, the system should trigger an in-app notification that appears for any logged-in cashier or manager until it’s acknowledged.
All changes must blend seamlessly with the current WinForms UI and respect our coding style (C#, Entity Framework, layered architecture). I’ll provide remote access to a staging environment and the latest source. Please include unit tests or another lightweight method to prove the rules work as intended.
Deliverables will be considered complete when:
– I can replicate the training steps on my own.
– I see quantities updating automatically on every transaction type.
– Low-stock alerts fire correctly, display in-app, and clear once the item is replenished.
– No regressions appear elsewhere in the POS.
