PHP 7.2 PDF Generation Fix

Job ID: 39839365

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I have a legacy PHP 7.2 application running on an AWS EC2 instance that serves aptitude-test reports. We relied on the dompdf “master” branch for on-the-fly PDF creation, but the latest dompdf release no longer supports 7.2, so PDFs are no longer being produced.

I need a rapid, production-safe remedy that restores PDF output without forcing a full PHP upgrade right now. I’m open to whatever gets us there fastest—patching the current dompdf version, sourcing an older or forked release, swapping in a different library entirely, or making targeted code changes—so long as the end result is:

• A seamless PDF generated from the existing report templates (fonts, headers, footer images and charts must render exactly as before).
• No breaking changes to the rest of the codebase.
• Deployment instructions I can follow on the same AWS EC2 box.

If you’ve solved similar compatibility issues or have deep dompdf / TCPDF / mPDF experience, I’d love to hear your plan and estimated turnaround. Speed is critical because candidates are actively taking tests.
