Order Processing Software for Manufacturer
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a custom piece of software that lets our manufacturing company handle every sale from the moment a customer places an order through to final dispatch. The core focus is streamlined order processing—capturing the order, walking it through our internal steps, and recording the outcome—so our team can stop juggling spreadsheets and email threads.
A crucial requirement is automated order-confirmation emails. The moment an order is logged, the system should pull the customer’s details, generate a clear confirmation message, and send it without anyone on my team touching a keyboard. While real-time tracking and historical reporting might be nice next steps, today I only need the confirmation workflow rock-solid and reliable.
Here’s the flow I want to see working end-to-end:
• An operator (or the customer through a simple front-end) enters the order.
• Stock levels are checked immediately in the background.
• If everything is in stock, an order-confirmation email goes out automatically, complete with unique order ID and expected ship date.
• A dashboard displays the live status of every order—“Awaiting Pick,” “In Production,” or “Shipped”—so floor staff always know what’s next.
• Managers can export a daily CSV report of all processed orders.
Acceptable deliverable: a tested desktop or web app (I’m flexible on the tech stack) deployed on a small internal server, source code handed over in a private repo, and simple user documentation so my team can start training the day it goes live.
