Develop Windows Accounting Software

I need a standalone desktop application built specifically for Windows that streamlines day-to-day accounting tasks for a small business. The focus is on reliability and an intuitive interface; web or mobile versions are not required at this stage, so you can concentrate on delivering a polished Windows build.

Key goals
• Core bookkeeping: record income, expenses, and journal entries with double-entry logic.
• Flexible chart of accounts: allow me to create, edit, and archive accounts as the business grows.
• Standard reports: generate balance sheet, profit-and-loss, and cash-flow statements in both on-screen and exportable PDF/XLS formats.
• Data safety: local file storage with automatic encrypted backups to a user-specified folder.
• Smooth import/export: CSV and Excel support for transactions and master data so I can move information in or out without hassle.

Tech direction
I’m open to C#, .NET (WinForms or WPF), or another modern Windows-native stack you prefer, provided it remains easy to maintain and extend.

Deliverables
1. Compiled installer (MSI or EXE) ready for end-users.
2. Full source code with clear inline comments.
3. Brief setup/usage guide (PDF or Markdown).
4. One round of bug-fixing after initial hand-over.

After the first version is stable, we can discuss enhancements such as multi-user access or cross-platform builds, but for now the mandate is a solid single-user Windows accounting solution.
