Custom PCB Design Software -- 2

I am in the middle of developing several medical-grade products and now require a dedicated application that lets my engineering team lay out, route, and verify boards without relying on expensive recurring licenses. The tool must be robust enough for commercial product development and, above all, serve the strict documentation needs that come with designing electronics for medical devices.

Core need
• A built-in, well-organized component library that we can expand, tag with compliance data, and update centrally.

Beyond that mandatory feature I am happy to consider extras such as 3-D board previews or SPICE-level simulation, but they are optional and can be discussed once the foundation is proven solid.

Deliverables I expect at project close:
• A fully functional installer (Windows preferred) or cross-platform build.
• Source code with clear build instructions.
• Basic user guide that walks through creating a board, accessing the library, and exporting fabrication files (Gerber, BOM, pick-and-place).
• One brief remote hand-off session so the internal team can ask implementation questions.
