i2s microphone crashes google coral devboard

This is a tricky bug that's been bothering me and I'm hoping a fresh set of eyes will have better luck. I can provide access to a board remotely. Basically it works with the official mendel linux, but my own buildroot linux works for a few hours and then crashes.
