Part-Time Senior Software Architect – SaaS MVP Development

Overview
We’re creating a SaaS MVP and are seeking a veteran software architect to shape and oversee a cloud-native, scalable architecture.

This is a part-time advisory role that could become an executive strategy position. Your focus will be on ensuring our developers build a system that meets defined business objectives and follows modern engineering standards.

Responsibilities
• Work with the founder to fully grasp the product vision, requirements, and technical goals
• Design and document an architecture that supports rapid MVP delivery while allowing for long-term growth
• Review technical plans and active development from the offshore team
• Provide direction on DevOps practices, API structure, scalability, and maintainability
• Perform recurring technical reviews, flagging any risks or quality gaps
• Serve as an ongoing technical advisor and Q&A resource during the build

Requirements
• 7+ years in software architecture, ideally with SaaS platforms
• Strong background in cloud-native, API-first solutions using Node.js, React, and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Proficiency with major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Ability to balance short-term MVP speed with sustainable long-term architecture
• Excellent communication skills for working directly with a non-technical founder
• Proven track record collaborating with and reviewing offshore teams
• Committed availability of 5–10 hours per week for advisory support
