OTP Integration in Keycloak Login Feature

Job ID: 38707557

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

Hello, I am looking for a developer to implement a feature in Keycloak (version 26.0.1) where both login and registration can be handled through a single form using a one-time password (OTP) sent via SMS.

The process should work as follows:

The user enters their mobile number in the login form.
If the user is already registered, an OTP will be sent to their phone, and they can log in by entering it (without changing their password if they already have one).
If the user is new, they will be registered and logged in automatically using the same OTP.
Additionally, the login form should include an option that allows users to switch to the traditional login method with a username and password, in case they prefer that option.

This is a highly requested feature among Keycloak users and is becoming increasingly common in mobile-first applications.

Requirements:
Integrate OTP-based login and registration within a single form.
If the user already exists, they can log in using the OTP without password changes.
If the user is new, register and log them in automatically after verifying the OTP.
The login form should have an option to switch to username/password login for users who prefer this method.
The solution should work seamlessly with Keycloak’s user interface.
I am currently using Keycloak version 26.0.1.
Additional Information:
Experience with Keycloak or similar identity and access management systems is preferred.
Please provide a timeline and estimated cost for completing this feature.
I’m looking forward to working with a skilled developer who can help implement this feature efficiently.
