Mendix Student Assignment Submission App
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a Mendix-based application dedicated to students that streamlines the full assignment-submission flow. The core of the app lets each student submit coursework online, while lecturers or tutors can review, comment and grade inside the same environment.
Key functionality
• Assignment submission: intuitive form where a student selects the course, uploads work and hits submit.
• File upload support: any common document type (PDF, DOCX, images) must store safely in Mendix file storage and remain linked to the assignment record.
• Submission-deadline reminders: automatic in-app and email notifications that trigger X days before cut-off and again on the day itself, driven by Mendix microflows and scheduled events.
• Peer-review system: after the deadline the system randomly assigns submissions to classmates for feedback; reviewers add comments through a dedicated page and the original author receives a consolidated report.
Acceptance criteria
1. All three feature areas—file uploads, reminders and peer review—are fully functional in a deployed Mendix cloud sandbox.
2. Responsive UI suitable for desktop and mobile without additional tweaking.
3. Clean domain model with separate entities for Courses, Assignments, Submissions, Reviews and Users, following Mendix best practices.
4. No hard-coded email addresses or dates; everything configurable through admin pages.
5. Delivered .mpk export and short video (or screenshots) demonstrating each user flow.
Mendix Studio Pro is the preferred toolset; microflows, nanoflows and built-in user roles should be used wherever possible instead of custom Java unless absolutely necessary. Test data can be dummy, but the app must be ready for our content the moment we import the package.
