Global Staff Cost Calculator in Next.js
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project Overview
We’re looking for a skilled developer to build a web-based Staff Cost Comparison Calculator using Next.js. The tool will allow users to compare the total cost of hiring talent in the Philippines, Vietnam, Colombia, and Mexico against hiring locally in the USA, Australia, Canada, UK, and Europe.
The calculator should dynamically pull live salary data from online sources (like Glassdoor, PayScale, Indeed, JobStreet, etc.) and layer on our specific Employer of Record (EOR) fees and optional office space costs. The output will be a clear savings comparison showing monthly and annual costs.
--- Geographies to Cover
Offshore Talent Locations (Where We Hire):
Philippines
Vietnam
Colombia
Mexico
Comparison/Client Locations:
United States
Australia
Canada
United Kingdom
Europe (general averages via Eurostat)
--- Cost Variables to Include
Base Salary (dynamic):
Pulled from online sources by country, role, and experience.
Add-on Costs (we provide these):
$400/month EOR service fee
18% recruitment fee (optional toggle; annualized over 12 months)
Hot Desk: $150/month (toggle)
Office Seat: $400/month (toggle)
--- Features and Functionality
1. Input Fields for Users
Job title / role (dropdown or autocomplete)
Experience level (1–2 yrs, 3–4 yrs, 5+ yrs)
Source market (PH, VN, CO, MX)
Comparison market (US, AU, CA, UK, EU)
Optional toggles:
EOR fee
Recruitment fee
Hot desk
Office seat
Number of employees
2. Salary Data Integration
Pull salary data by role, country, and experience level from:
Glassdoor
Indeed
PayScale
JobStreet
Talent.com (API available)
Eurostat (for Europe)
Developer must identify:
Scraping vs API options (we will comply with terms of service)
Fallback to manual or CSV upload when APIs are not available
3. Dynamic Cost Calculation
For each location, calculate:
Base salary
Loaded cost (base + selected add-ons)
Annual cost
Equivalent cost in comparison market
Savings ($ and %)
4. Responsive UI/UX
Clean, intuitive interface for mobile and desktop
Toggle views between table and chart (optional)
Export results to PDF or CSV (bonus)
5. Optional: Admin Panel (Phase 2)
Upload new salary benchmarks via CSV
Adjust EOR or office pricing settings
--- Tech Stack
Frontend: Next.js (React)
Styling: Tailwind CSS (preferred)
Data: Public APIs, scraping jobs, or static CSV fallback
Deployment: Vercel or Netlify
Bonus Tools: Chart.js or Recharts for visual outputs
--- Deliverables
Fully functional cost calculator web app
Source code (GitHub repo)
Deployment to Vercel (or exportable build)
README with instructions for updates
List of all integrated data sources with fallback options
--- Ideal Freelancer
Expert in Next.js, REST APIs, and scraping
Experienced with dynamic calculators or dashboards
Familiar with global salary data or HRTech (a big plus)
Strong eye for design and UX
Bonus: knowledge of EOR/offshoring/HR platforms
