Description:
We are a student group working on a mini-project titled "AI-Powered Obstacle Detection for Railway Safety." The goal is to develop a working prototype that uses the Firebird V robot platform, various sensors, and a lightweight AI model for real-time obstacle detection.
We are looking for a freelancer to help us build and test the system end-to-end, including hardware integration, AI model training, and real-time control.
Scope of Work:
Hardware Integration:
Firebird V robot setup (we will provide the kit if needed).Integrate ultrasonic, infrared/PIR, and a Raspberry Pi Camera module.
Software Development: Real-time data acquisition and sensor fusion.Image capture and preprocessing.
Object detection using YOLO or MobileNet (via TensorFlow Lite or OpenCV).
AI Model: Train a lightweight object detection model to identify obstacles like animals, people, debris.Deploy on Firebird V for edge inference.
Decision Logic: Implement safety triggers: stop robot if obstacle detected.
Relay module control for emergency stop or alert simulation.
UI (optional but preferred):A simple desktop/web interface showing sensor status, detected obstacles, and manual override.
Testing & Tuning:Calibrate for different lighting and environmental conditions (simulate fog, low light, etc.)Document performance metrics.
Deliverables:Complete source code and documentation.
Trained AI model files.
