Advanced GPS Tracker System for Asset Tracking
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 CAD
I am looking for an expert capable of creating an advanced GPS tracker system. The primary purpose of this system is for asset tracking. This unique system is intended not only for my use, but also to be resold to my existing client base, therefore it should be versatile enough to handle an unlimited number of trackers.
Skillful experience in both API and hardware development related to GPS systems is mandatory, as the tracker should include these essential features:
- Real-time tracking: The tracking should be continuous and dynamic while moving, allowing users to monitor their assets in real time.
- Geofencing: It should implement a geofencing feature, allowing users to define geographical boundaries.
- Speed alerts: Instant alerts in case of exceeding the predetermined speed limit.
- Adjustable reporting frequency: The ability to customize the reporting frequency of each tracker.
- Trip Total KM: Tracking the total kilometers covered during each trip.

We are looking for the freelancer to
1. Find similar hardware options this company provides https://gethapn.com/hardware/
2. Create our own API that the hardware will transmit to similar to this https://hapn.dev/
3. Ability to update various reporting parameters on each device independently (how often it reports, how far it has to move before it wakes up to report, if its an OBD tracker - if it start transmitting when it gets power etc)
Note: We do not require any of the mapping, real-time tracking on a map etc - we already have a solution for this that we actively use through a cell phone app - We just need someone to figure out the Hardware & API portion to get each hardware device to independently insert all details into database.
- Note: We are not looking to compete with this company - we have an existing niche customer base and we have a requirement to track there fleet vehicles without using 3rd party companies for privacy & security purposes, so we have to have our own in-house GPS Tracker Hardware & API.
