Freelancer Job Posting:
WebRTC Developer Needed to Build Custom Webcam Streaming Backend (LiveKit) & Integrate into Existing Site

Project Overview
I am the owner of a custom-built social network platform (currently using Lovable AI for frontend/UI) that features chatrooms and live webcam integration. The current webcam functionality is unstable, limited, and expensive using 3rd-party commercial providers. I am looking to replace this entirely with a custom self-hosted solution using LiveKit as the backend streaming engine.

This project requires both backend and frontend integration skills.

What I Need Built
Backend Streaming System:

Self-hosted LiveKit SFU/WebRTC server (on VPS like DigitalOcean, Hetzner, or similar).

Setup of signaling, TURN/STUN servers (coturn for TURN recommended).

Full configuration of scalable WebRTC infrastructure.

Custom API Backend:

Lightweight Node.js or Python server to:

Authenticate users (using my existing Supabase user system).

Issue LiveKit access tokens for streaming sessions.

Manage user sessions and dock assignments for webcam layout.

Frontend Integration:

Integrate LiveKit frontend SDK into my existing Lovable AI-based frontend.

Ideally done via:

iFrame embeds for initial integration (simpler MVP).

OR custom API calls from Lovable AI's HTTP actions for deeper integration.

Dock Management Logic:

There are always 8 webcam docks across the site:

4 docks on left, 4 on right (1 dock reserved for personal "My Webcam").

Each dock should show either:

Placeholder image (if empty)

Active stream (if user is live)

Dock assignment logic controlled via Supabase database (already set up).

Persistent Streams Across Navigation:

Webcams must remain active globally across all pages (SPA-style behavior).

No refresh or re-initialization when navigating pages.

Admin Panel (Optional Phase 2):

Simple web admin panel to monitor streams, view active users, and manage sessions.

Ideal Freelancer Skills
Strong experience with WebRTC (LiveKit, mediasoup, Janus, or similar).

Experience deploying TURN servers (coturn setup).

Strong backend API development (Node.js, Python, WebSockets, REST APIs).

Familiarity with Supabase (Postgres, auth, RLS policies).

Experience integrating WebRTC frontend SDKs.

Comfortable working alongside a pre-existing frontend framework (Lovable AI).

Ability to propose best architecture and deliver clean, maintainable code.

Key Requirements
Fully functional, stable, scalable WebRTC backend.

Seamless integration into my existing frontend (no design changes).

Full documentation of system architecture, deployment process, and codebase.

Long-term maintainability (clean code, not just hacked together).

NDA and IP ownership agreement (standard freelancer contract).
