Social Media Strategy Audit
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
You're a consultant for **M&S**. Three slides. That's it.
---
**Slide 1: The Facts (35%)**
Pull the data from the 3 Emplifi PDF exports. Your job is to answer these questions about M&S vs. competitors:
→ **Who's winning?** Compare total community size and net growth across all supermarkets. Find M&S's biggest challenger.
→ **Is M&S actually liked?** Look at comment sentiment. Big following means nothing if people are complaining.
→ **Are promoted posts worth the money?** Check promoted vs. organic performance. Should M&S spend more or less on ads?
→ **What content works in the category?** Identify the top themes (Food, Clothing, etc.) and formats (video, carousel, static) driving engagement.
→ **Year-on-year changes?** Anything getting better or worse compared to last year?
→ **Seasonal opportunities?** Any spikes around holidays, occasions, or events M&S could ride?
The challenge: you have a LOT of data. Condense it into visuals. Charts, tables, screenshots. Not paragraphs. Show it, don't describe it.
---
**Slide 2: Recommendations (40%)**
Based ONLY on what you presented in Slide 1 (no new facts here), tell M&S what to do:
→ Where to double down (what's working)
→ Where to pull back (what's wasting resources)
→ Recommend short-form vertical video (Reels, TikTok). That's where 2026 audiences live.
→ Suggest discovery-based content that works with Meta's AI recommendation engine (content people find, not just followers)
→ Recommend using AI tools to draft copy and test creative variants so the social team doesn't burn out
→ Push M&S from "broadcasting at people" to "having a conversation with people"
Every recommendation must connect back to a data point from Slide 1. No opinion without evidence.
---
**Slide 3: One Influencer Pick (25%)**
Choose ONE influencer M&S should partner with. Just one.
→ Include a screenshot of their profile
→ Explain why they fit M&S specifically
→ They should feel authentic, not polished. Consumers trust UGC over brand ads.
→ Use Dual-Processing Theory as your justification: pick someone who stops the scroll with emotion (storytelling) AND gives enough practical info (recipes, tips) to drive saves and shares
---
That's the whole assignment. Three slides. Data first, strategy second, influencer third. Keep it tight.
