Indie Horror Film Marketing Guide

Job ID: 40216827

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need a clear, step-by-step marketing roadmap that will help me build real buzz for an indie horror movie that is still in production. The plan must revolve around two core channels: Social media plus our own Blog and website, so please outline how each channel can reinforce the other and drive traffic back and forth.

On social, the focus is Instagram and Facebook, with additional attention to Bluesky and Upscrolled. I will mainly share behind-the-scenes footage and regular production updates, so your strategy should show how to turn that raw material into a rolling narrative that keeps genre fans talking while also attracting new followers.

What I expect from you
• A phased campaign timeline from now through the film’s release, broken down by week or milestone.
• Detailed content ideas for every phase, specifying formats (short video, carousel, stories, blog posts, etc.) and outlining recommended image or copy hooks that suit horror culture.
• Posting cadence, optimal days/times, and suggested automation or scheduling tools.
• Tactics for organic reach and engagement—hashtags, cross-posting, shout-outs, micro-influencer outreach, interactive polls, and live Q&A sessions.
• Guidance on how to weave in calls-to-action that push visitors from social to the blog or website and onto our mailing list without feeling spammy.
• Metrics to watch (impressions, saves, shares, click-throughs, comment sentiment) and a simple method to track them so we can refine the plan in real time.
• One-page summary checklist that my small crew can keep on set for quick reference.

Please deliver the guide as a neatly formatted Google Doc or PDF, ready to share with the team, and include any templates or example posts you think will shorten our learning curve.
