Social Media Investigator for Legal & Media Research

Job ID: 40064785

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I need a meticulous researcher to collect and organise content that is publicly visible across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. The work supports both ongoing litigation strategy and background material for upcoming media pieces, so accuracy and proper source-noting are critical.

Your task is limited to open-source intelligence: only what a normal user can see without friend-requests, log-ins beyond a standard account, or any form of scraping that violates each platform’s terms. A background in journalism, public affairs or media relations helps, because context often matters as much as the raw data.

Deliverables
• A structured report (Word or Google Doc) with live links, screenshots and timestamps of every relevant public post, comment, photo or video you locate
• Separate spreadsheets of follower / following lists where those relationships are germane, including user handles and profile URLs
• Chronological timeline highlighting dates of publicised events mentioned in the content
• Brief methodology note confirming sources were public and detailing any search filters or advanced operators used

Acceptance criteria: every citation must be reproducible by opening the provided link in a clean browser session; screenshots must display the platform’s URL bar; and all dates/times should specify time-zone.

Clear written English is essential, as these files will move straight into a legal team’s evidence folder. If you already track stories or reputational issues professionally, you’ll fit right in.

Est. Work time is around 10 hours in total over 2-3 days.
