Podcast Production Assistant Needed
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I am building a recurring podcast and livestream format and I am searching for a high-skill, technically fluent production assistant with demonstrated, verifiable experience using SquadCast, Restream, and Descript. This is not a surface-level task, and not a “learn on the job” opportunity. I need someone who can operate confidently, answer questions accurately, and handle the full workflow before we go live, while we are live, and after sessions conclude.
This role is hourly — $3 to $5 USD per hour depending on skill, proof of experience, and trial output. You will be part of each recording session, responsible for setup, real-time support, troubleshooting, post-production extraction, editing, clipping, and content repurposing for multiple channels.
Role Responsibilities — Full Workflow (No Truncation)
1. BEFORE THE SHOW
You will be responsible for:
Creating and managing recording sessions in SquadCast, including multitrack audio, video settings, guest access links, backups, and environment preparation.
Setting up Restream output channels for broadcasting including configuration of destination platforms (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), ensuring overlays, branding assets, framing, scene layouts, and caption templates are loaded and ready.
Running technical pre-flight checks:
• Audio quality
• Video framing
• Microphone gain levels
• Bandwidth stability
• Guest connectivity
• Local + cloud backup recording
Preparing outlines, talking points, timestamps, and support materials as directed.
Your role is to ensure that 20 minutes before recording, all technical elements are confirmed and studio-ready.
2. DURING THE PODCAST (LIVE SUPPORT)
You are expected to be present in real-time to:
Monitor connectivity, audio peaks, echo issues, guest feeds, recording tracks, and video stability.
Live-switch scenes, lower-third labels, overlays, banner text, and transitions inside Restream whenever required.
Troubleshoot without panic — meaning you must know what to do if audio drifts, if video desyncs, if a guest drops, if echo appears, or if feed quality collapses.
Maintain recording integrity at all times and maintain backups.
You must be someone who performs well under time pressure and can solve problems in motion instead of after the fact.
3. AFTER THE EPISODE
Once the session ends, you will:
Import all audio/video assets into Descript and run a full edit workflow:
• Remove filler words
• Correct long pauses
• Balance audio levels
• Sync multicam/multitrack
• Export polished long-form episode
Generate derivative content:
• Short vertical clips (Reels/TikTok/YouTube Shorts)
• Square format social content
• Clean captions and transcripts
Prepare episode files for distribution on podcast platforms and social media.
Timeliness matters — speed and quality will determine continued assignment volume.
Required Skill Credentials (No Filler Applicants)
If you apply, you must meet the following:
Real experience with SquadCast + Restream. Not just theoretical — you must have produced or managed sessions.
Proficiency working inside Descript. You must understand multitrack editing, filler removal, caption export, and clip creation.
You can be available live during recording sessions — not “later,” not “after,” but in the room while it happens.
You must provide proof of work.

If you cannot show real production history, do not apply.
Compensation + Engagement Terms
Hourly rate: $3–$5 USD based on ability.
Hours vary weekly but there will be recurring work if performance is strong.
Expectation of long-term engagement for someone who proves reliability and skill.
Potential to expand into more hours including channel management, guest outreach, content scheduling, distribution oversight, and analytics.
This position is ideal for someone who wants steady, ongoing work and has the discipline and talent to execute consistently.
How to Apply — Mandatory Submission Format
Applications must include all of the following or they will not be reviewed:
Your experience with SquadCast (explain with detail — not one sentence).
Your experience with Restream (what you have actually set up, not theory).
Descript workflow breakdown — step-by-step, from raw file to full export.
At least 2–5 samples of your work: livestreams, recorded podcasts, edited clips, reels, or similar.
A 30–60 second voice or video introduction (required for communication clarity).
Failure to include all elements = auto-reject.
This is the Final Written Version — No Summarization, No Cut-Downs, Full Specification.
If you meet the criteria and want consistent work with a fast-moving podcast build-out, apply properly and professionally. If you do not meet the criteria or cannot provide proof of experience, please do not apply.
