Managing Brooklyn Event Venue Social Media

Job ID: 40223694

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

Social Media Manager — Boutique Event Venue (Brooklyn, NYC)

Project Overview
We're looking for a skilled social media manager to handle organic content and paid advertising for a boutique event venue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The space hosts corporate offsites, creative events (art shows, brand activations, photo shoots), private celebrations (weddings, birthdays), and wellness experiences (workshops, retreats, sound baths).
This is an ongoing monthly engagement — not a one-off project. You'll be the dedicated person managing our social presence across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, creating content that showcases the space and drives booking inquiries.

What You'll Be Doing
Content Creation & Scheduling
Create and schedule 12–16 posts per month across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
Produce short-form video content: venue walkthroughs, event recaps, behind-the-scenes clips, Reels, and TikTok videos
Edit photos and videos for social (we'll provide raw assets from events and venue shoots)
Maintain a content calendar organized around our four audience segments: Corporate, Creative, Private Events, and Wellness
Write engaging captions with local Brooklyn voice, relevant hashtags, and clear CTAs linking to our booking platform

Paid Social Advertising
Set up and manage Meta/Instagram ad campaigns targeting event planners, corporate teams, creatives, and couples
Build and manage audiences: lookalikes, retargeting, interest-based targeting by event type
A/B test ad creative, copy, and audience segments
Manage ad budget pacing and optimize for cost per lead
Ad spend budget is paid separately by the client — you manage the campaigns, not the spend

Engagement & Community
Respond to comments and DMs (or flag booking inquiries for follow-up)
Engage with local Brooklyn businesses, event planners, vendors, and complementary brands
Monitor and repost user-generated content from events at the venue
Identify collaboration and cross-promotion opportunities with local accounts

Reporting
Monthly report covering: follower growth, engagement rate, reach, top-performing content, ad performance (CTR, CPL, ROAS)
Flag insights and recommendations for next month's strategy

Requirements
Must Have:
Portfolio showing work for event venues, hospitality, restaurants, or lifestyle brands — we want to see relevant work, not generic social media samples
Strong video editing skills for Reels and TikTok (CapCut, InShot, or similar)
Proficiency with Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager
Experience creating and managing paid social campaigns with measurable results
Graphic design capability (Canva at minimum; Adobe Suite is a plus)
Reliable communication and ability to work independently with weekly check-ins

Nice to Have:
Experience with event booking platforms (PerfectVenue, Honeybook, Tripleseat, etc.)
Understanding of local SEO tie-ins (location tagging, local hashtags, Google Business Profile cross-posting)
Experience with Brooklyn/NYC market or similar urban lifestyle market
ActiveCampaign or email marketing integration experience

Engagement Details
Type: Ongoing monthly retainer (flexible/project-based hours)
Budget: ~$350–$400/month
Start: Immediately upon selection
Timezone: Open to international applicants (any timezone) — but must be responsive during US Eastern business hours for time-sensitive posts or engagement
Communication: Weekly check-in via video or voice call; ongoing communication via Slack or messaging

How to Apply
Please include in your proposal:

Relevant portfolio samples — specifically event venue, hospitality, or lifestyle brand work. Include links to accounts you've managed (not just graphics you've designed).
A brief note on how you'd approach the first 30 days for a boutique event venue in Brooklyn that's building its social presence.
Your monthly rate and what that includes (number of posts, ad management, reporting, etc.).
Video samples — at least 2 examples of Reels or TikTok content you've created and edited.

We're looking for someone who can start quickly, work independently, and bring creative energy to a visually rich space. This is a long-term role for the right person.
