Kids Podcast Social Media Assistant

Job ID: 40509341

Budget: €2 – €6 EUR

ABOUT US
--------

We produce a calm bedtime podcast for children aged 4 to 8. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented VA to help us reach parents and grow a small community of listeners.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
----------------

The role: recruit families for our free listener community. It is a small group of parents who listen to the show with their child and send us short feedback. Your job is to find the right parents and invite them, honestly.

WE TARGET ENGLISH-SPEAKING FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AGED 4 TO 8 IN THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, THE UNITED KINGDOM AND AUSTRALIA.

Concretely:

- ON FACEBOOK: find groups of these parents, read each group's rules FIRST, and only post where recruitment, research, or recommendations are allowed. When in doubt, skip it. Post a short, friendly message we provide, and space your posts out so your account and our name stay in good standing.
- ON INSTAGRAM: find parent accounts and parenting accounts that already talk about kids' podcasts, bedtime, or screen-free time. Reach out with a short, personal direct message (we provide a template) lightly tailored to each person, showing you actually looked at their profile. A small number of genuine, personalised messages per day, never mass identical DMs, which get accounts blocked.
- ON REDDIT: find relevant subreddits (parenting, toddlers, kids' activities). Read each subreddit's rules FIRST, as most ban any self-promotion. The right move is to answer existing posts where a parent is genuinely asking for podcast or screen-free recommendations, always disclosing that you are connected to the show. Never start promotional threads. One honest, helpful, transparent reply is worth more than ten posts that get removed.
- Reply politely to questions using answers we provide.
- Track everything in a Google Sheet: platform, community or account name, link, rules checked (yes or no), date contacted, replies received, sign-ups.

THE ONE RULE THAT MATTERS MOST
------------------------------

YOU MUST ALWAYS BE HONEST ABOUT WHO YOU ARE. In every message, you make clear that you are helping the show, for example: "Hi, I help with a new kids' bedtime podcast, and we're looking for families to try it." We provide the exact wording; you never improvise it. You must NEVER pretend to be a parent, a fan, or an independent person recommending the show. This is non-negotiable. Pretending would damage our reputation and would end the contract immediately. Honest outreach is the whole point: it protects our name, and yours.

YOU NEED
--------

- Excellent written English. You will be writing to native English-speaking parents, so your messages must read naturally and warmly.
- Real experience with Facebook groups, Instagram outreach, and Reddit, ideally with English-speaking parenting communities and accounts in the US, Canada, UK or Australia.
- An understanding of what keeps a social account safe: respecting group and subreddit rules, spacing posts, and never sending mass identical messages.
- Your own Facebook, Instagram and Reddit accounts, in good standing, that you can use for transparent outreach.
- Comfort with Google Sheets and basic web research.
- A calm, friendly, respectful tone. This is a gentle brand for young children, so the voice is never pushy or salesy.
- Reliability and attention to detail over raw speed.

HOW TO APPLY
------------

1. Start your reply with the word MOONLIGHT, so we know you read this all the way through. Applications without it will not be read.
2. In two or three sentences, tell us about a time you did community outreach, recruitment, or social media work in English.
3. Name one parenting Facebook group, OR one Instagram parenting account, OR one subreddit (any country) that you think would be a good fit for us, and say in one line why.
