PHPMailer Sendmail Email Fix

My PHP application fails whenever it tries to send an email. The problem is limited to sending—receiving works elsewhere—and the code relies on PHPMailer configured to run through Sendmail rather than SMTP. I need someone to trace the root cause, correct the configuration or code, and verify that messages leave the server reliably without throwing errors or disappearing into the queue.
You will have SSH or panel access (read-only first, write when we’re confident) so you can inspect log files, PHPMailer settings, and the Sendmail configuration. When you are done, I want to hit the existing “Send” button and see the message land in my test inbox with the correct headers and no warnings in the server logs.
Deliverables:
• Updated PHPMailer or Sendmail settings, code tweaks, or both
• A brief change log so I can reproduce the fix on staging and production
• Confirmation of at least one successful test email
