Job ID: 40273180

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

Project Brief – Magento Upgrade to 2.4.8 and Changes to Website Functionality

• Upgrade Magento from version 2.3.5 to 2.4.8.

• Back up all current data to ensure no information is lost during the upgrade process.

• Create a development (staging/clone) site to perform the upgrade. Once all functionality has
been thoroughly tested and confirmed to be working properly, deploy the updated version to the live site.

• Upgrade all extensions that are not compatible with version 2.4.8. Below is a list of several extensions I have identified (some are free and some are paid. For the paid extensions, please advise if suitable free alternatives are available).

• Install the free cache and page reindex plugin:

• Ensure the Magento installation is properly connected to Composer, as this will be beneficial for applying future updates and patches.

• Install the latest Stripe and PayPal plugins that are compatible with Magento 2.4.8, and ensure that the payment capture process functions correctly during checkout on the live site.

• Disable the “Order Extra M2” and “Wastage 10%” options on all products listed in the links below, see screenshot highlighted in yellow. This must also be applied to out-of-stock products and reflected on their respective product pages.

• Disable all elements highlighted in yellow from the product page view across all categories. The only visible item on the product page should be “Ordered,” as highlighted in green, see attachment.

• The “split carte processing fee” (see attachment screenshot £24) make sure this function works if in the future the “Order extra m2” service if activated and offered again in the future. When you put a value in the “Order extra m2) field because it is a split pack service it automatically calculates £24 for the service. Happy to talk this through over a call how this function should work

• For the “Order Pack Quantity” field (see attachment highlighted in red), prevent customers from entering decimal values (e.g., 0.2, 1.4, etc.). The system should automatically round any entered decimal value up to the nearest whole number (e.g., 0.2 should round up to 1 pack, and 1.4 should round up to 2 packs).

Prior to deploying the upgrade to the live site, please ensure that all existing website functionality operates correctly on Magento version 2.4.8.

1. Stripe Checkout – Confirm that Stripe functions correctly at checkout. Once the site is live, I will place a test order to verify successful payment processing and sends order confirmation.
2. PayPal Checkout – Confirm that PayPal functions correctly at checkout. Once the site is live, I will place a test order to verify successful payment processing and send order confirmation.
3. Order Confirmation and Dispatch Notifications – Ensure that both the team and customers receive order confirmation and dispatch notifications, and that we are able to update and confirm orders once goods have been dispatched.
4. Product Variant Selection – Confirm that customers can successfully select product variants (e.g., pack size and product type) from the drop down menu on the product page.
5. Order Sample Function – Ensure the “Order Sample” option/icon functions correctly on the product page.
6. Delivery Calculation by Postcode (Checkout Page) – Confirm that delivery charges are correctly calculated based on postcode during checkout.
7. Postcode Lookup Extension – Ensure the postcode lookup feature functions correctly during checkout.
8. Cart Delivery Calculator – Confirm that the delivery calculator works on the “View & Edit Cart” and checkout page calculates delivery once a postcode is entered.
9. Discount Code Functionality – Ensure that discount codes can be successfully applied on both the “View & Edit Cart” page and the checkout page.
10. Terms & Conditions Confirmation – Confirm that customers are required to tick the box agreeing to the Terms & Conditions before placing an order.
11. Pop-ups, Backend Tools, and Abandoned Cart – Ensure all pop-ups, backend tools, and abandoned cart functionality are working correctly.
12. Cobble Setts and Circle Setts Products – Confirm that the ordering functionality works correctly for all products within these categories.
13. Brick Products – Ensure that the ordering functionality works correctly for all brick products.
14. Delivery Calendar – Confirm that the checkout calendar can restrict selectable delivery dates so that customers can only choose the fifth available working day for delivery.
15. Product Page Drop down Menu – Ensure the “Pack Size & Stone Finish” drop down menu functions correctly on the product page.
16. Full System Testing – Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure the upgraded version performs identically to the current live version before deployment.
