Fix Ninja Forms Email Issue
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My WordPress site suddenly stopped emailing confirmations from the “Parker Clay 2025” Ninja Forms submission. Messages went out fine during development and early testing, and earlier yearly forms still fire without any trouble, but right now everything tied to this new form stalls with the following WP Mail SMTP error:
api_key: invalid
What changed just before the break? I updated Ninja Forms itself, the Speed Optimizer plugin and the Divi Supreme Pro theme. Beyond that, nothing major was touched and, to the best of my knowledge, previous forms never needed any special SMTP setup. I haven’t verified the WP Mail SMTP API key because I’m not sure where to do that, so that may be the root cause—or the updates may have introduced something else.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Diagnose exactly why the Parker Clay 2025 form no longer triggers outgoing emails (both user confirmations and admin notifications).
• Repair the issue by either correcting WP Mail SMTP settings or adjusting whatever conflict the recent updates introduced.
• Prove the fix by submitting test entries and showing the message flow reaching both the inbox and spam-free.
• Leave a brief note explaining what you changed so I can repeat the process when we create next year’s form.
You’re free to use the existing WP Mail SMTP plugin, swap in another mailer, or even revert a specific update—whichever solves the problem cleanly without breaking the live site. Access to the WordPress dashboard and, if necessary, cPanel/FTP will be provided after we agree to proceed.
I’m ready to get this resolved quickly, so let me know how soon you can jump in and any initial checks you’d like me to run before you start.
