Email Interception & Verification Tool

Job ID: 39790381

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

I need a small, reliable program that can sit between a mailbox and the outside world, catch every message—both on its way out and on its way in—and run a verification step before the message is finally delivered or sent. The goal is straightforward: give me full visibility and control over all email traffic, without forcing end-users to change their daily routine.

Core requirements
• Intercept both outgoing and incoming messages in real time.
• Pass each message through a verification routine (e.g., header checks, basic content rules, SPF/DKIM look-ups or a lightweight script that you and I can refine together).
• Log every action—allowed, blocked, or flagged—into a simple, searchable store.
• Forward, quarantine, or reject the message based on the verification result, while preserving the original mail flow so users see no disruption.

I’m open on the underlying approach: an SMTP proxy, a plug-in, or a microservice that talks IMAP/SMTP—whatever you feel is the cleanest, easiest to maintain, and most secure. Flexibility to work with popular providers such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo is a plus, but not mandatory if you can justify another route.

Deliverables
1. Source code with clear build/run instructions.
2. A short configuration guide that lets me point the tool at any mailbox and set simple rules.
3. A quick demo (screen share or recorded clip) proving interception and verification in action.

I’m ready to move immediately and would like to see a working prototype as soon as you can manage. If you have relevant experience with email protocols, proxies, or add-ins, please outline it briefly when you respond.
