CodeIgniter SMTP Switch to Gmail

My CodeIgniter application currently delivers email through Elastic Email SMTP, but I need every message to go out via Google SMTP instead—and I need it fast. I haven’t created the Google SMTP credentials yet, so your first step will be guiding me through generating the correct Gmail/Google Workspace SMTP details (host, port, username, password or app-password, secure settings).

Once those credentials are ready, I expect you to:

• Update the email configuration in my CodeIgniter project (application/config or relevant environment files) to point to smtp.gmail.com with SSL/TLS.
• Make any required code tweaks so the Email library continues to send without errors.
• Send a quick test mail from the app and show me the success response.
• Provide a brief note summarizing what you changed so I can replicate it on other environments.

This is a straightforward task for someone who knows CodeIgniter inside out, so I’m looking for a quick turnaround today if possible.
