Simple wax smart contract

I have a leaderboard written traditionally and need it written as a smart contract. It is currently going to the swagger api to check all players assets and returning their score on a leaderboard (takes almost 4 minutes to go through over 100,000 assets). I know there is a better way to do this and I would like the leaderboard to be able to update live. I believe other people are doing this through a smart contract but I could be wrong. Thanks, Max
