Wastewater Pipeline Surge Analysis

Job ID: 40221755

Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR

I need a complete transient (surge) study for a 13-km buried pipeline that carries treated wastewater from our STP. The goal is to predict all critical pressure extremes, then turn those numbers into practical hardware locations so the line can be protected before we commission it.

Scope of the study
• Model the existing line geometry, elevations and flow data (I will forward the General Arrangement Drawing as soon as it is finalised).
• Simulate the three key operating upsets that worry us: pump start/stop sequences, planned valve manoeuvres, and a full power-failure trip.
• Identify positive and negative pressure envelopes, vapour pocket risks and column separation zones.
• Translate the results into a clear markup on the GAD, showing where air-release/vacuum valves, isolation valves, drains, vents or surge vessels should sit—only where the calculations prove they are needed.

Deliverables
1. Calculation report with assumptions, model screenshots, pressure and velocity plots, and commentary on each scenario.
2. Marked-up GAD in native CAD and PDF formats with every recommended device tagged.
3. A short summary sheet listing component sizes, response times and any special installation notes.

I am open to Bentley HAMMER, AFT Impulse, Flowmaster or any equivalent tool you are comfortable with, provided the output tables and charts are easy for the client and EPC to audit.

Success for me is a model I can hand to our design review board and a drawing my piping team can lift straight into the Issued-for-Construction package.
