Teach me how to use OMNET++ simulator with Veins framework.

I want to implement a vehicle clustering algorithm for VANET by simulating the vehicular network using OMNET++ including the Veins framework. I read through the basic tutorials on the OMNET++ website, but I don't know how to implement my idea within the Veins framework. My C++ programming skills are intermediate. What I want is a crash course on OMNET++ and Veins in the perspective of implementing my algorithm.
