Siemens Plant Simulation: Manuel Order Picking with Travsal Strategy

Job ID: 40464395

Budget: €12 – €18 EUR

I need a Siemens Plant Simulation model to investigate traversal routing strategies for order picking in a warehouse environment.

The warehouse layout should follow the attached image and contain 10 aisles with shelves on both sides. The warehouse should include a front aisle, back aisle, and a drain/loading point at the front side.

The shelves should be filled with different products distributed across the warehouse.

The simulation should work as follows:

Only one picker is considered in this model.
The picker uses a traversal routing strategy for order picking.
The picker starts at the drain/loading point.
The system generates a random customer order containing x products.
Products are randomly selected from the available products stored in the warehouse.
The picker must search for all requested products in the warehouse, collect them, and return to the drain/loading point to deliver the order.

The main objective is to determine how long the worker needs on average to complete an order containing x picks while using the traversal strategy.

Required output / KPIs:

Average time needed to complete an order with x picks
Total travel distance
Average picker travel time
Number of completed orders

Deliverables:

Siemens Plant Simulation (.spp) file - Version 2404
Clean and well-structured model with labeled methods and tables
Basic documentation explaining how to change parameters and run simulations

Warehouse dimensions and additional input parameters will be provided after project start.
