OMNeT++ & SUMO VANET Simulation -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a complete simulation scenario that combines OMNeT++, SUMO, and preferably the Veins framework to study vehicular communication with a clear emphasis on latency and reliability in a Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) setting.
Here is what I have in mind:
• A realistic road network (urban or highway is fine) generated in SUMO, exporting all required mobility traces for OMNeT++.
• An OMNeT++/Veins configuration where roadside units and on-board units exchange packets according to a common V2I protocol (IEEE 802.11p is acceptable, but I am open to alternatives if they fit the goal).
• Detailed logging or statistics modules that let me extract end-to-end latency, jitter, packet-delivery ratio, and any retransmission metrics relevant to reliability.
• A short report or notebook that explains the scenario setup, parameters, and how to reproduce the results.
Acceptance criteria
– I can run the project in OMNeT++ (latest 6.x or stable 5.x—whichever you use) and SUMO without additional troubleshooting.
– Output graphs or CSV files clearly show latency distribution and delivery success rates for both vehicles and RSUs.
– All configuration files and scripts are included, well commented, and version-controlled.
If you have prior examples of similar V2I studies, feel free to mention them; a concise demo video is a plus but not mandatory. Looking forward to collaborating on this.
