Natural Gas Pipeline Flow Simulation

Job ID: 40342352

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

I am commissioning detailed flow simulations for natural-gas transmission lines between 50 km and 600 km long, with internal diameters of 24, 30, 36 or 42 inches. The core task is to model steady-state and, when useful, transient behaviour so I can clearly see pressure drop, flow-rate distribution and temperature gradients along the route under a range of operating scenarios.

You are free to work in ANSYS CFX/Fluent, MATLAB-based codes, Simulink or any other professional package you can justify; just make sure the method, equations of state, and boundary conditions are fully documented so the work can be reviewed or extended later.

Please provide:
• The simulation file(s) ready to run or edit
• A concise technical memo explaining assumptions, mesh or discretisation choices, and convergence checks
• Plots and raw data for pressure, velocity, mass-flow rate and temperature versus distance, plus any sensitivity cases we agree on

I will supply gas composition, inlet conditions, elevation profile and roughness data at kick-off. Let me know up front if you need anything else so timelines stay realistic.
