Advanced Electronic Filter Design and Simulation
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
Design of Advanced Electronic Systems (ELEE 1129)-Assignment Overview
For the Design of Advanced Electronic Systems (ELEE1129) coursework, you must design and simulate a six-pole Chebyshev bandpass filter using electronic design software and present the work as a poster.
Need to Do
1. Design the Filter
• Use the given normalised low-pass prototype values (g0–g7).
• Assume characteristic impedance = 50 Ω.
• Use your assigned center frequency (f₀) from the table.
• Fractional bandwidth is 8%.
2. Simulate the Circuit
Use EDA software such as:
• Keysight Advanced Design System
• AWR Microwave Office
• Genesys RF Design Software
Tasks:
• Build the bandpass filter circuit
• Replace J-inverters with capacitor-only or inductor-only networks
• Run schematic simulations (S11 and S21 results)
3. Microstrip Implementation
Convert the circuit into a microstrip filter layout using the substrate:
Rogers RT/Duroid 6010LM
• Dielectric constant = 10.7
• Thickness = 1.27 mm
• Loss tangent = 0.0023
• Copper thickness = 35 µm
Then run EM simulation of the microstrip design.
4. Compare Results
Show graphs comparing:
• Circuit simulation results
• Microstrip EM simulation results
Poster Sections
Your poster must include:
• Abstract (max 60 words)
• Introduction (theory/background)
• Procedure (design steps and equations)
• Findings (results and comparison)
• Conclusion (max 60 words)
• References (IEEE style)
Submission
• Submit one poster.
• Deadline: 31 March 2026.
