Automate NX Mold Component Creation & Insertion
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I want to speed up my plastic-mold design workflow in Siemens NX by automating three repetitive steps: dropping in our standard components, positioning sliders, and adding lifters. I already have well-defined component libraries; what I need now is an NX Open solution that reads a few user inputs (size, position, stroke, etc.), finds the right catalog part, and inserts it fully constrained inside the mold assembly, ready for downstream drafting and BOM creation.
You are free to use C#, Python, or VB.NET—whichever language lets you build a clean, maintainable add-in. The code has to run inside NX 2212 and above, expose a small dialog or ribbon tab, and follow Siemens’ best practices so future engineers can extend it.
Deliverables
• Compiled plug-in (and source) that installs in one step
• Clear user guide / quick video demo
• Sample files that prove the script places standard components, sliders, and lifters correctly in a plastic mold
I will test by loading my own tooling project and running the add-in; every inserted item must land on the right reference points, carry its metadata, and regenerate without errors.
