Shopify Website Development - Meta Fields Updated Theme to Pick up Product Specifics

We are looking to find someone that will be able to build custom features on our Shopify website - we have the background but do not have the time.
Our first project is we would like to build out product page meta fields so that the theme displays item-specific qualities.
We would like two things:
1) the product meta fields to work so theme displays item attributes on product page
2) allow filtering on catalog page by these meta field attributes for products
