Project Description
We are seeking an experienced developer proficient in Shopify and ASP.NET Core to build a real-time order integration solution.
The main goal is to create a private Shopify Partner App that our clients (Shopify store owners) can install. This app must automatically send confirmed/paid order details to our proprietary management system (NikoExpress), which is developed using ASP.NET Core.
Objectives and Technical Requirements
1. Shopify Partner App Development
Creation & Configuration: Development of a public or custom Partner App within the Shopify ecosystem.
Scope Management: Correctly request the necessary permissions (scopes) to read order data (e.g., read_orders).
OAuth 2.0 Flow: Implementation of the secure installation (OAuth) flow for connecting to the client's store.
2. Webhooks Implementation (Data Transfer Method)
The required integration method is via Webhooks, as it is the most robust and real-time solution.
Webhook Registration: The app must register a Webhook (preferably for the orders/paid or orders/create event) targeting a specific URL on our management system.
Receiving Endpoint (ASP.NET Core): The developer will assist us in configuring the API Controller (the Webhook Endpoint) within our ASP.NET Core system to securely receive Shopify's POST requests.
Custom Data Structure: The JSON payload sent by the Webhook must be a customized structure (not the native Shopify JSON) to align with our import table (which requires around 10-12 mapped fields, plus the Customer ID). The full data structure mapping will be provided to the selected candidate.
Security: Crucial implementation of HMAC verification (Hash-based Message Authentication Code) to validate the authenticity of every incoming Webhook payload.
3. Customer Mapping Data (Crucial Requirement!)
To successfully link the Shopify store to our management system, it is mandatory to implement a mapping field during the App installation process:
Customer Code Request: During the App's installation/authorization flow on the Shopify store, the user must be able to input a unique Customer ID (CustomerId) that we will provide to them.
Storage and Transmission: This code must be securely stored by the App for that specific store. Subsequently, it must be sent as an additional field (non-native Shopify data) within every order Webhook payload.
Target Field: This code must map to the CustomerId (field 17) in our order data structure.
4. Development Requirements
E-commerce Platform: Shopify API and Webhooks.
Preference: Prior experience in developing Shopify Apps (Partner Program) is a significant advantage.
