Customise shopify template to support linear productss
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
We are building a Shopify website using the "Debut" theme. Out of the box, Shopify does not support decimal places for product quantities.
We require a solution for selling linear products. Some, not all, of our products are sold by the metre with 0.25m increments. So, for example, a customer may wish to buy 1.25 metres of timber. We are not concerned with tracking inventory.
The information provided to our customers must make sense for both the expected path and the edge cases. Two examples follow:
1. The quantities on the order received email reflect what was purchased.
2. If an invalid quantity was entered by a customer then the response must make sense to them.
A custom product template needs to be created for our linear products because we still have ordinary products. Template level changes would also need to be made to the cart page, checkout page, order emails.
Depending on how you implement the solution you may want to add a product property and/or build an admin app but we would prefer it if this was not the approach taken. An appropriate solution must not depend on a third-party plugin to work.
Changes to the themes must be clearly shown so that changes can be easily incorporated into future updates to the theme.
We ask that a proof of concept solution be built on a demo website and then once satisfactorily completed provide instructions and code be provided to migrate the code to our website. The solution will be reviewed by our webmaster prior to us putting it on our website.
Upon satisfactory review, we will make payment. Upon payment, we require that all copyright be assigned to us.
