E-commerce QR Code Automation System - Shopify Automation for Secure, Single-Use QR Code Delivery
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project Overview
I am launching an e-commerce platform that sells digital activation access for a third-party application for a one-time fee per user.
This business relies on a low-volume, high-value technical fulfillment system that must be fully automated. The core challenge is securely delivering a single piece of static, secret source data (the Master Key) to multiple paying customers, ensuring each customer receives a working access key only once.
Key Technical Requirement: The Single-Use QR Code Logic
The end-user application requires the customer to scan a QR code to retrieve the sensitive activation data. We need a secure, dynamic mechanism to track each sale and ensure the delivered link is immediately disabled after the first successful use.
The successful freelancer must set up the following automated workflow:
1. Inventory Source: Create a Google Sheet/ Excel/ Other inventory where I manually enter my static Secret Master Data Strings (Source Keys). This sheet must track the usage status and remaining capacity of each string.
2. Trigger: When a Shopify order is paid for the "Activation Key" product.
3. Data Retrieval: The automation must fetch a single, unused Secret Master Data String from the Google Sheet and mark it as allocated to the new customer.
4. Dynamic Fulfillment Generation: The automation must generate a unique, one-time-use link that securely contains or points to the Secret Master Data String.
5. QR Code Conversion: Convert the unique link from Step 4 into a QR code image.
6. Secure Delivery: Deliver the QR code image instantly to the customer via the Shopify fulfillment email.
7. Usage Security/Expiration: The delivered unique link must be routed through the automation platform (Zapier/Make/ Other) or a custom landing page script. This link must become permanently inactive after the customer's first successful click/scan, preventing the customer from sharing the direct activation key.
Required Tools and Expertise
• Platform: Deep expertise in Shopify Digital Product Fulfillment.
• Automation: Proven experience with Make.com (Integromat) or Zapier for multi-step, conditional logic workflows. (Make is preferred for complex data operations).
• Data Handling: Experience using Google Sheets as a live database for fulfillment tracking.
• APIs: Ability to handle webhooks and use API calls to manage the dynamic link generation and single-use tracking.
• Understanding: Must understand the concept of a Master Data String being used for a limited number of single-use customer activations (a count that can be tracked in the sheet).
Deliverables
• Fully functional, documented automation workflow on the chosen platform (Make/Zapier).
• Integration with my Shopify store.
• Complete guide on how to replenish the Master Data String inventory in the Google Sheet.
• The system must be built for scalability (ready to handle new Source Keys seamlessly).
Please provide a brief summary of how you would approach the single-use link expiration logic.
Note: My budget is below $100. Avoid bidding if you will waste my time and yours
