WordPress & Shopify Developer – Ongoing Maintenance, Development & Support
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
We're looking for a reliable, long-term WordPress & Shopify specialist to keep a portfolio of hosted sites running smoothly, extend them when new ideas arise, and step in fast when anything breaks.
Here’s what day-to-day looks like:
• Apply core, theme and plugin updates on a scheduled basis — full backups taken beforehand and stored off-server
• Proactively monitor sites for errors, performance drops or security issues before visitors notice
• Contribute to new WordPress and Shopify site builds — clean code, custom post types, advanced custom fields and bespoke PHP work
• Read and work with unfamiliar legacy/custom code quickly — troubleshoot issues and refactor where it makes sense
• Act as emergency contact (Slack or phone) if something critical fails — fast response, minimal downtime
• Work directly on VPS and shared hosting environments
We're looking for:
• Strong WordPress and Shopify experience across theme/plugin work and custom development
• Comfortable on live production sites — careful, precise and reliable
• Server experience: SSH, Git, WP-CLI, cPanel/Plesk and standard security hardening
• Fast at reading unfamiliar codebases, especially legacy or bespoke solutions
• Takes ownership, communicates well and is available when it counts
• Familiarity with performance optimisation, backup strategies and security best practices
• Fast response window for urgent issues
To apply:
