Shopify XML EDI Freight Integration
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
XML EDI Integration – Website to Mainfreight (Freman) for Freight Booking and Labels
Description
We are looking for a developer to implement an XML-based EDI integration between our website and Mainfreight’s Freman freight management system.
The goal is to allow our website to automatically create freight consignments when an order is ready to ship.
Important:
We do NOT need freight quoting. The integration only needs to support freight booking, manifest creation, and label generation.
Scope of Work
The developer will need to:
• Generate XML manifest files based on Mainfreight’s Freman XML specification
• Map order data from our website to the required XML fields (sender, receiver, items, weight, cubic, etc.)
• Automatically create a consignment when an order is dispatched
• Send the XML to Mainfreight via their EDI upload method (SFTP preferred)
• Ensure the shipment is successfully created in Freman
• Enable printing or retrieval of consignment labels/documents
We already have the official Freman XML specification document that defines the required fields and structure.
Deliverables
• Working XML generation from website order data
• Automated consignment booking in Mainfreight
• Manifest creation
• Label/consignment document generation
Technical Notes
The XML format includes elements such as:
• Message header
• Consignment details
• Sender and receiver information
• Line items (items, weight, cubic)
• Freight terms and service type
The developer must follow the provided XML schema exactly so it can be successfully imported into Freman.
Requirements
• Experience working with XML integrations
• Experience with EDI or logistics/shipping APIs preferred
• Ability to integrate with external systems via API or SFTP
Please include in your proposal:
1. Relevant experience with EDI or shipping integrations
2. Estimated time to complete
3. Questions about the specification if anything is unclear
Project budget
Open to proposals. We expect this to be a relatively small integration since the XML specification is already provided.
