Shopify Product Bundles

We’ve been scratching our heads a bit to find the best solution in Shopify to link up our product offering and subscription with clear & automated instructions for our fulfilment centre. We would very much welcome your opinion.
Essentially, in our Shop we have 8 Products:
4 Refills and 4 Starter Kits.
The Starter Kit is not a standalone product, but rather a bundle of any of the 4 Refills and 2 other accessories (an outer case and a pump which are not listed).
Attached you have pictures of how a Starter Kit will be packaged; refill is the Orange/Red box.
A couple questions:
Correct stock levels for Starter Kits: Starter kits are not stored separately, but are assembled in the Fulfilment Centre by inserting the correct refill in a box that already has the other 2 components (pump and case).
Shopify have recommended that we use an app (Connected Inventory or Bundler) to create a bundle (new SKU) and linking up with an existing product (1 of the 4 refills).
Subscription: after purchasing a Starter Kit, a customer would ideally re-use the accessories (pump & case) and order only refills. Hence there is no need for a Starter Kit subscription.
Can we instead offer Refill subscription on the Starter Kit product page with Re-charge?
We are using these guys, they also have their own platform manages stock & orders and plugs into Shopify https://www.i-fulfilment.co.uk
