Shopify - Discounts should not affect the generated amount of giftcards

Job ID: 33200444

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

In my Shopify store I have a digital gift card option where the gift card is automatically generated upon purchase and sent to the customer via email.
The digital gift card is for a specific customized product and currently published with 2 price options (variations).

AS-IS: if I offer a discount on the gift card (where I am actually offering a discount on the actual product the gift card stands for), the amount the gift card is currently issued for is the discounted amount. This results in the person gifted this gift card (payed for with a discount) not having funds enough to purchase the actual product the gift card stands for.
Example:
Gift card for 1x customized product = $50
I offer a 10% discount of this gift card.
You buy it and pay $45 for it. The digital gift card you receive is valid for $45
You give the gift card as a present. The receiver has insufficient funds for the product the gift card is meant for, that costs $50

TO-BE: I need to be able to offer a discount on the gift cards that will not affect the amount they are issued for, only the amount charged for them.
Example:
Gift card 1 = $50
I offer a 10% discount of this gift card.
You buy it and pay $45 for it. The digital gift card you receive is valid for $50
You give the gift card as a present. The receiver HAS sufficient funds for the product the gift card is meant for, that costs $50

This function of discounts not affecting the generated amount of gift cards should be applied to the 2 variations currently available but also apply to future variations of this product.
