I need a seasoned Shopify developer/customization expert that has the ability to not only make basic changes BUT ALSO know and Fix the “Side Effects” of his/her changes.
For example, when I have you add the option to make my Collections background Black or other colors, you should know What Global Effects your changes will have on my site. Such as when the Collections page background is changed to Black what OTHER parts of the site will be effected? Will all the Product pages ALSO be changed to Black ?
And if so what about all the other elements of the page that Now need to be changed because the black background will hide all the black text, black buttons, etc. Hence, you can see how one change can make a mess of several other parts of the site,
And spend 90% of the time Plugging up holes from changes you made. A competent developer doesn’t have to spend time Plugging up holes. He/She sees problems BEFORE they occur.
How do you address this issue? How do you manage global changes and their potential Side Effects?
Three Important requirements for this job:
1. Document all your changes, coding, etc and submit with a weekly status report
2. AVAILABILITY: You Must be available at least a few hours form 9-6pm Est . I can wait 25-20 Hours for a response. If you cannot be available part of the day EST then Don’t apply for this job
3. Must Think Outside the box. Anyone can code, but Not Everyone has the intuition and/or methodology to resolve Side Effect issues resulting from their changes and coding. As I mention in the introduction.
And not everyone has the intuition to see Opportunities and Problems that I DON’T see. For example, a more experienced Shopify /ecommerce professional will make recommendations on improvements to my site. Like the how to improve the Shopify Visibility score.
