I'm in need of a skilled developer who specializes in creating Shopify apps.
We have identified an issue where orders drop-shipped from AliExpress on SHOPIFY receive an initial tracking number for AliExpress's tracking site. However, this number fails to update when it is replaced by a new tracking number from Australian Post.
To address this, we propose the following solution:
1. Check All Open Orders: Start by scanning all current open orders that have not yet been delivered that have tracking numbers in Shopify.
2. Verify Tracking Numbers: Check with the CAINIAO API to determine if there is an updated tracking number available. This new number, if different from the original, indicates a transfer to another courier, such as Australian Post.
3. Update the Tracking Number: If a new tracking number is available and it differs from the existing one, update the order with this "Latest Tracking Number" to ensure accurate tracking of the delivery status.
4. If no tracking number exists for an order then it just skips over this.
This refined process, especially the integration of the CAINIAO API, aims to ensure seamless tracking updates, thereby improving the accuracy of our shipping information and enhancing customer satisfaction.
5. We are wanting to create a private shopify app or if another way is suggested happy to accept that handles this. You can see “New tracking number” if one exists for an order on the Cainiao website for example: Access the tracking page (e.g., Cainiao Global
Although I had the options to add functionalities like inventory management and email marketing integration, I have decided not to at this point. Also, please note that there are no specific deadlines for this project, delivering quality work is more important.
