Migration of Existing PrestaShop Website to Shopify (or Equivalent Modern E-commerce Platform)

Project Overview

We are looking for an experienced e-commerce developer/agency to migrate our existing PrestaShop website to a modern, secure, scalable, and actively supported platform such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or another suitable solution.

Our website is currently operational with active customers (around 15000), orders (around 5000), SEO rankings, and product data. The migration must be completed with minimal downtime and without loss of data, SEO rankings, or customer information.

## Scope of Work

### 1. Complete Website Migration

* Migrate the entire website from PrestaShop to the proposed platform.
* Replicate or improve the current design, navigation, and user experience.
* Ensure mobile responsiveness across all devices.
* Optimize website speed and performance.

### 2. Product & Catalog Migration

* Migrate all products.
* Product descriptions.
* Product images and galleries.
* Product categories and subcategories.
* Product attributes and variants.
* SKU and inventory data.
* Product metadata.

### 3. Customer Data Migration

* Migrate all customer accounts.
* Customer names and contact information.
* Billing and shipping addresses.
* Customer groups and account history.

Please clearly mention whether customer passwords can be migrated or whether customers will be required to reset their passwords after migration.

### 4. Order History Migration

* Migrate all historical orders.
* Order statuses.
* Invoice references.
* Customer order history.
* Shipping information where applicable.

### 5. SEO Preservation (Critical Requirement)

The freelancer must ensure that existing SEO rankings are protected during and after migration.

This includes:

* Migration of all existing URLs where possible.
* Proper 301 redirects from old URLs to new URLs.
* Preservation of page titles and meta descriptions.
* Preservation of structured data where applicable.
* Preservation of canonical URLs.
* Migration of image ALT tags.
* Migration of product and category metadata.
* Generation and submission of updated XML sitemap.
* Search Console setup and monitoring.
* Identification and correction of crawl errors after launch.
* Maintaining current search engine rankings as much as possible.

* Verification that all tracking is functioning correctly after launch.

### 7. Email & Forms

* Ensure all contact forms work correctly.
* Configure transactional emails.
* Configure order confirmation emails.
* Configure customer account emails.

### 8. Third-Party Integrations

* Payment gateway migration.
* Shipping integrations.
* CRM integrations (if applicable).
* Any existing third-party modules or custom functionality.

### 9. Testing & Quality Assurance

The freelancer must thoroughly test:

* Customer registration.
* Customer login.
* Password reset.
* Product search.
* Shopping cart.
* Checkout process.
* Payment processing.
* Mobile usability.
* Order placement.
* Order emails.
* Contact forms.
* SEO redirects.

### 10. Launch Support

* Production deployment.
* DNS transition assistance.
* Post-launch monitoring.
* Bug fixing and stabilization support for at least 30 days after launch.

## Required Experience
