Impulse theme customization of Shopify site

I am looking for a Shopify Customization expert to help with our impulse theme customization.
We need to
1. disable the add to cart button when the user hasn't uploaded files yet.
2. customize input elements based on variant selection.
We are currently using impulse as our theme, and we want users to upload a picture before adding the product to the cart. I can disable the button on load, but when the user picks another size option, the disabling stops working. There might be some ajax calls or form resetting that I am not aware of.
