Headless Shopify Full Stack Developer

Job ID: 40383712

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

Senior eCommerce Full Stack Developer (Headless Shopify)

This role is ideal for a senior-level full stack developer who enjoys building fast, scalable eCommerce experiences and working with modern headless architectures. You’ll be contributing directly to a high-performance DTC storefront, with a strong focus on speed, conversion, and clean integration patterns.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of building and improving a headless Shopify storefront using modern tools like Hydrogen and Remix. The work spans both frontend and backend, so you should be comfortable moving between UI development and server-side logic.

On the frontend, you’ll create reusable components, templates, and UI patterns that are optimized for performance and conversion. On the backend, you’ll handle data fetching, API orchestration, and integration workflows that keep the storefront running smoothly.

A big part of the role involves integrating third-party services—things like CMS platforms, search tools, subscriptions, and personalization systems—so experience wiring together multiple systems is important.

You’ll also spend time optimizing performance across the stack (client, server, and edge), improving Core Web Vitals, and making sure everything is accessible, SEO-friendly, and stable across browsers.

What you’re expected to bring

You should have strong full stack experience, especially with React and server-side JavaScript or TypeScript. Prior work with headless Shopify setups is important, particularly using Hydrogen and the Storefront API.

You’ll need to be comfortable working with GraphQL, modern frameworks (like Remix or similar), and build tools such as Vite. Experience integrating tools like Klaviyo, Algolia, Contentful/Sanity, or subscription platforms is a big plus.

This role also expects a solid understanding of eCommerce metrics—things like conversion rates, page speed, and user behavior—and how technical decisions impact them.

Since this is a senior-level position, you should be confident making architectural decisions, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
