Custom Shopify Development for selecting fulfillment location
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Custom Shopify Development for Advanced Inventory Management
I am in need of a Shopify developer who can create a custom solution for assigning fulfillment location on my Shopify store. The project needs to be completed in less than one month.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in Shopify development
- Experience with the Shopify Mechanic app (Not Required)
Project Details
This can be custom designed in Shopify or I'd like to discuss creating this as a Custom Mechanic Task in the Mechanic App for Shopify
Project Title: Manage Fulfillment Order Location Assignments
- This task will provide the following configuration fields
- Primary location name and US states [keyval, array, iso state codes]
- Secondary location name
- Test mode [boolean]
- This task will run when new orders are created
- IF the shipping state on an order matches one of the configured ones for the primary location, THEN set the primary location is the preferred location
- ELSE set the preferred location to be the secondary location
- Get the inventory for each line item at the primary and secondary locations [taking into consideration that the inventory where the order is currently assigned will already be deducted from "available"]
- IF both locations have sufficient stock for all line items, THEN move all of the fulfillment orders to the preferred location [or leave them there]
- ELSE IF only one location has sufficient stock for all line items, THEN move all of the fulfillment orders there [or leave them there]
- ELSE IF both locations have insufficient stock for all line items, THEN move individual line items from the fulfillment orders to whichever location where they are in stock, defaulting to the preferred location when both locations either have sufficient stock for a single line item or neither location has sufficient stock
- When the "Test mode" option is enabled, the task will only log out what actions it would have taken (if any) in lieu of making actual changes
Assumptions:
- I will provide collaborator access to our shop
- This automation is designed to operate with two configured locations; if additional locations are added in the future, that update can be scoped separately
- Items that do not track inventory or are configured for overselling will be treated as in stock items at both locations
- I want to explore the abiltity to split Individual line items as part of this automation (e.g. moving 3 of 4 quantity of a line item)
- The “Error reporter” task from the Mechanic library will be added to the Mechanic instance if it hasn’t been already; it will handle error notifications if there are any issues during a task run
If you want to get extra consideration for this project, please put INCUBATOR WAREHOUSE in your bid reply.
